Welcome to GoCodes! To begin the Bluetooth Beacon activation process, you’ll need your laptop, Android Smartphone, and beacon. Simply follow the steps to get started, fast.

1. Powering up and activating the beacon

a) To power up the beacon, simply orient the beacon so that the tag faces you. Feel for a small button, which is located on the beacon’s right-hand side. Now, press and hold the button for approximately 5 seconds, until you see a red flashing light under the tag. The beacon is now powered up and working.

2. Bind the beacon to your GoCodes’ Account using the GoCodes’ Android App

a) To bind the beacon to your GoCodes’ account, first login to your GoCodes’ account using the GoCodes’ Android app on your smartphone.

b) To access the app settings, tap the Gear icon. The icon is located on the top right of the screen entitled Scan or Search.

c) Scroll to the bottom of the Settings page and slide the slider to Enable Beacon Support. Now tap the button called Search for Beacons.

d) With the GoCodes Beacon positioned within 1-foot of the phone, identify a beacon on the list that is not greyed out (already active) and which shows that the Distance to Beacon is 1 ft.

e) Tap the ID of this beacon to start the binding process. The binding process will open the camera on your phone, so that you can scan the QR code on the beacon label.

f) Once you have scanned the QR code, you’ll receive a message asking you to confirm that you want to Bind the beacon to the GoCodes ID shown on the screen. Click Bind. Keep your phone close to the beacon so that it can successfully bind. Once it has bound, you will receive the message Beacon Successfully Bound.

g) The beacon is now ready for use.

3. How to use your active beacons

a) To reach the Scan or Search page (which is where you’ll be able to see all your nearby beacons) simply click the back arrow on the top left of the Beacon List page to return to the Settings page. Now click the back arrow one more time to return to the Scan or Search page.

b) On the Scan or Search page, you’ll see the small, blue Bluetooth icon located to the right of Search for Assets.

c) Click the Bluetooth icon to view a list of all the beacons within range.

d) You can now select any item to View, Update, Check Out as usual.

That’s it! It’s that easy! Thank you for using GoCodes!
