Hello, and welcome to GoCodes! This training is for you, if you are a new GoCodes user, who works at a business that has a GoCodes account that’s already set up.
For this training, please work on your phone using the GoCodes web-app, since this is the most popular set up for new users.
Logging In
On your smartphone click this link (https://app.gocodes.com/login) and sign in, using the email and password provided by your company.
Please note that you should not sign up for a new, personal account.
Scan a Tag
To scan a tag, simply click on the square barcode icon button that’s located at the top of your phone screen to open the scanner.
You can now scan a GoCodes asset label.
When you scan the label, you will be shown the asset information for that specific barcode. If your asset information has not been filled in, you will see a ‘Blank Asset’.
If information has already been entered for that Asset, you can see it here. These are two examples of what asset information may look like.
Update an Asset
To update an asset, first click the light blue three vertical dot menu button. You will now see a list of actions you can perform with this asset. Click on ‘Edit Info’ and you will be presented with the data for the asset, which you can now modify.
Once you’ve updated the asset, click ‘Save’ to save the changes. Your asset information is now updated.
Check an Asset In or Out
To check an asset in or out, just scan the GoCodes QR cide tag, and click the Check In/Out button. If you are checking it out, enter the name of the person who will be assigned the asset. You can also enter an optional return date and any notes.
Search for an Asset
To search for an asset, click the Asset List menu option to view a list of your assets. Then enter the information associated with the asset you are wanting to find. The list of assets matching your search will be displayed.
You can click on the correct Asset ID from the list, to view the asset. If you then choose to Edit the asset or Check it in or out, simply undertake the aforementioned steps.
