GoCodes Asset & Inventory Tracking

            How does the GPS tracking feature work, help me troubleshoot it


            There are two scenarios where the GPS information is captured and updated:

             1 - iPhone / iPad / iPod iOS Devices with the GoCodes App installed:
             Once you download and login using the GoCodes app, any time you scan an asset tag and then update it the system records and location. That current location can then be displayed on the mobile app using the Map button which is at the bottom of the asset detail screen. This GPS information can only be viewed in the Apple APP Map View.

             2 - All other devices or when you using the Apple app without logging in just as a QR code scanner
            Start your QR code scanner (GoCodes or any other), then scan the QR code tag. Do not login, but proceed to send a message. Filling in message details is optional (you don’t have to actually enter any data). Once you click to submit our system will collect the GPS information for the asset from your device and this information will be available to view online on your computer in the Messages area. Note you may be prompted to allow your device to share your GPS information and you should select YES. Different devices handle this differently so you may not see this screen.

            Troubleshooting Tips:

            Check that your account is set as Premium, Lite accounts or free trial accounts don’t have this feature unless we are requested to add it.
            For (2) make sure you click submit at the end of the flow. GoCodes needs to receive a message to get the GPS information
            Check that your device settings are configured to allow your GPS location to be shared. This can be set to disabled
