GoCodes can connect directly to Claude, so you can ask Claude questions about your equipment, assets, and tasks in plain English — things like “Which assets are overdue for maintenance?” or “Who has the drone kit checked out?” This guide walks you through connecting your GoCodes account to Claude for the very first time. It only takes a couple of minutes, and you won't need any technical knowledge — just follow the steps below in order.
Before you start • You'll need a Claude account. If you don't have one yet, create a free account at claude.ai before continuing. • You'll need your GoCodes login — the same email and password you use at app.gocodes.com. • This only needs to be done once. After that, GoCodes is available in any Claude conversation. |
Step-by-step instructions
Step 1: Open Claude's Connectors settings
Sign in to Claude at claude.ai. Click your profile picture (or the Settings gear icon) in the bottom-left corner, then choose Settings. In the Settings window, click the Connectors tab along the top — you may need to scroll the tabs left or right to find it.
Step 2: Start adding a custom connector
Click the Add button in the top-right corner of the Connectors page, then choose “Add custom connector” from the menu that appears.
Step 3: Enter GoCodes' connection details
A form will appear asking for two things. Fill them in exactly as shown:
• Name: type GoCodes
• Remote MCP server URL: type https://mcp.gocodes.com/mcp
Then click Continue.
Step 4: Leave the authentication settings as they are
Claude automatically detects the correct sign-in settings for GoCodes and marks them “Detected.” You don't need to change anything on this screen — just click Add at the bottom.
Step 5: Sign in with your GoCodes account
A window will open asking you to log in to GoCodes. Enter the same email and password you use at app.gocodes.com, then approve access when prompted.
Step 6: You're connected
Claude will show a “Connected to GoCodes” confirmation and take you to a page listing the GoCodes tools Claude can use, along with permission settings for each. The defaults work well for almost everyone, so you can leave them as they are.
Using GoCodes in a conversation
Being “connected” makes GoCodes available to Claude, but you still need to turn it on for each conversation. In any chat, click the + button next to the message box, choose Connectors, and switch GoCodes on. Then just ask your question in plain English — for example, “List all overdue assets” or “Who is assigned the pressure washer?”
Troubleshooting
• Don't see GoCodes after adding it? Close and reopen the Settings window, or refresh the page.
• Sign-in window didn't appear? Check that your browser isn't blocking pop-ups for claude.ai.
• “A connector with this URL already exists” message? GoCodes may already be set up on your account — go to Settings > Connectors, find GoCodes in the list, and click Connect instead of adding a new one.
